MICHIGAN REGIONAL LILY SOCIETY 2019 SCHEDULE
April 3, 2019

April

• The Zoo flower order is due on April 1, 2019 – We will be ordering from the Zoo this year.
• Alicia – Detroit Zoo Mandatory Yearly Orientation Sat, April 13, 8-10 a.m.
• Our first General Membership Meeting of the season will be at the Birmingham Unitarian Church. Located at 38651 Woodward Avenue at Lone Pine Road Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48304 on April 27th, 11:30am until 2:00pm. We will  be selling a few Martagon bulbs at this meeting. There will also a brief Q&A on the care of martagons.

May

• Detroit Zoo Planting Week is Friday, May 24 through Saturday, June 1. Our planting date to be determined at the meeting. Please plan on attending.
• We have to start advertising for the Lily Show.
• Dexter’s Garden Club May Day is this month, details will be provided later.

June:

• Martagons bloom so early, their beauty tends gets over looked. We should host a self-guided Martagon Garden Tour of members gardens that have Martagons. Depending on the weather we could host another Martagon & Wine event. Let me know how you guys feel about this. If you would like to host this event or    our June meeting, please give me a call.

July

• July 11 – 14 North American Lily Society Annual Lily Show will be held in Boston, Massachusetts.
• The 2018 show was be held in Iowa.
• See NALS website at lilies.org for more information.

• July 20 – Our annual Lily Show & Pot Luck to be held at the home of Stacey & Alicia Boyd. We will have the exact sit up as last year. Including our silent auction for this event. Unless someone wants to suggest a new venue.

August

• Event/Meeting will be needed this month. If you would like to host the meeting in your garden this month, please contact me as soon as possible. Get advertising for the bulb sale started.

September:

• Preparing for bulb sale. A meeting might be needed this month to go over Bulb Sale details. If you would like to host this meeting, please let me know.

October

• October 12th – Bulb Sale
• With the extended summer like weather we’ve experience in the last few years. Hopefully the growers that provide the bulbs for the sale are able to harvest   and get the bulbs to us by this date.

November

• Detroit Zoo fall clean up, to be held after the bulb sale. Happy Thanksgiving!

December

• Annual Winter Luncheon to be held on December 7th, it will be held at the same place as last year.
• Brass Pointe 24234 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336
• You and your guest can choose from the following: Signature BBQ Ribs or Baby Back Special, Fresh North Atlantic Salmon, or 1/2 BBQ or Broasted Chicken. All entrees include ranch fries, salad and garlic bread. Unlimited coffee, tea and soft drinks are included. Beer and wine is available at cost.
